To submit images to Picture Calls in fotoLibra, simply click on the Picture Call megaphone icon below a thumbnail in your Collections, and select the relevant AUGUST FESTIVALS Call from the drop-down menu which appears. Pictures must be marked as Rights Managed, and should not be sent direct to me.
Big, colourful images are needed for a glossy, upmarket volume on Festivals Around The World. The book won't be published till autumn next year, so for a change we have plenty of time to gather the images. We're going to be sending you a Picture Call every month with the following month's needs, as the publisher would like to see the current festivals.
What's always needed are close-ups of the participants, audiences and revellers.
These are the festivals taking place this August. If you're going to be in the particular country, you'd be wanting to go and see them anyway.
Tips: Include close-ups of the audience or the crowds, especially if they're cheering and waving banners. If there's a formal opening or closing ceremony, or processions, get those. Get close in.
