Not you, dear Member! A friend of the firm is seeking photographs of the art of taxidermy, from entire mounted displays to series of images showing a craftsman at work.
Wildly popular in the nineteenth century, taxidermy is said to be making a comeback, though I have yet to see much evidence of it. Nevertheless there is sufficient interest for someone to want to buy photographs of it. So please see what you can do. We welcome examples from all over the world.
The most impressive display I've heard of is at the National Trust's Powys Castle, outside Welshpool in Montgomeryshire. The walls of the billiard room consist of floor to ceiling cabinets packed with "superb" examples of taxidermy — I put quotes on because frankly the whole concept makes me feel rather ill. Nevertheless I must soldier on bravely. By the way, we do NOT want photographs of the Powys Castle taxidermy because that really would be a copyright contravention.
