James John Trevor Lawrence, 2nd Baronet (c1832-?) English doctor and horticulturalist, known in horiticultural circles as Sir Trevor Lawrence. Studied medicine at St Bartholemew's Hospital, London. Spent ten years in the Indian Medical Service. President of the Royal Horticultural Society for many years. One of his hobbies was breeding Orchids and he is holding a bunch of them in his hands. The fashion in millinery which demanded ladies' hats be adorned with the feathers of these exotic birds led to some species being hunted to near extinction.
