General Auguste Dubail (1851-1934) French Army officer. During the First World War, after the French failure at Verdun in 1916, Dubail was relieved of his command in the field and appointed Military Governor of Paris.
General Michel-Joseph Maunoury (1847-1923) French artillery officer. Recalled from retirement in August 1914 at the beginning of the First World War. Maunoury in July 1915. In March he had been badly wounded and shot through they eye, ending his active career.
