Falcon Inn, Lower Bridge Street, Chester, was originally part of a larger town house circa 1215, Timber work is 16-17th Century, used as an Inn until 1878 then restored by John Douglas re-opened as a Temperance House. Disused until 1980's restored by the Falcon Trust reopened 1992 by Duke of Westminster.
Building started in 1827, to improve route to Holyhead, Architect Thomas Harrison submitted plans in 1818, after his death in 1929, construction was carried out by William Cole, Jun. and Engineer Jesse Hartley, one of earliest single span Bridge's at the time.
Chester Cross buildings featured on 1975 Architectural Heritage Year postage stamp. Designed by T.M.Lockwood for the First Duke of Westminster 1892, Grade 2 listed building.
