Description
A rider at Fence 25, September 1962 European Horse Trials, only the second year they had been held at Burghley and now the longest running International event. It was the 6th marquess of Exeter David Cecil who brought the Horse Trials to Burghley, he was a gifted athlete and an Olympic gold medallist in 400m hurdles in 1928.
A rider at fence 28 Burghley Horse trials September 1962. This was only the second year that Horse Trials had been staged at Burghley and it is now the longest running International event. It was David Cecil (1905-81), the 6th Marques of Exeter, who brought the horse trials to Burghley, he was a gifted athlete who had won an Olympic Gold in 1928.
