Cliffs, chalk, red, white, limestone, carrstone, fossils, crumbling, dangerous, rock falls, sand, boulders, seaweed, beach, lighthouse, hang-gliders, para-gliders. Looking like an enormous piece of coconut ice, the top part of the cliff is white chalk from Upper Cretaceous era, beneath is a thin, 2-3ft layer of red chalk/limestone from Lower Cretaceous era which took about 15 millions years to be laid down, very slow.The red colour due to iron salts, Lower still is a much thicker layer of carrstone.
