Local legend has it that one night, during the late 19th Century, two men were playing cards at an inn on a Saturday night, at midnight, a stranger joined their game and they welcomed him. But one of them dropped a card, and as he bent to pick it up, he noticed that the stranger had a cloven hoof. Terrified, the men fled, never to play cards on the sabbath again.
