A tiny landscape is captured on a rock outcrop in highland Perthshire. Some of the inverted cones, arising from soft green leafy structures of a lichen resembling Cladonia impexa, bear startling red fruiting bodies A quite different lichen forms pale grey crusst on the rock. Old pine needles are scattered around as are some mosses, one of which, probably a species of Bryum. is producing sporing heads on long thin stalks.
