Description
Belle Grange a large isolated house lies on the western shore of Windermere a mile south of Wray Castle. On the 13th June 1930, it is reputed that Sir Henry Segrave was taken here after his ill fated attempt at the world water speed record. Sir Henry reached a speed of 98.76 MPH in his boat Miss England before hitting a log, he died before reaching hospital.
A unique way of utilising an old telephone box in the South Lakeland village of Oxen Park in the Rusland Valley. The box has been stocked with maps and books of all subjects from history to nature all relative to the area.

The Cuckoo Brow Inn at Far Sawrey is thought to date back to about 1700. During that time it has been know as The Anglers Inn, The New Inn; The Sawrey Hotel and since 2011 The Cuckoo Brow Inn. The bar alongside the road was for many years known as The Claife Crier Bar after a ghost reputed to roam Claife Heights.

Brennand Tarn is the only natural tarn of any size on the Bowland Fells. The cigar shaped tarn is situated in a narrow col at the head of Tarn Clough between Whins Fell and Brennand Great Hill. This shot was taken looking west and at the time of taking was home to a family of Canada Geese
