Summer morning on Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland. Looking east towards the woodland topping Housestead Crags and beyond the sun is rising over Sewingshields Crags with Broomlee Lough on the far left of the view.
Looking northward over Hadrian's Wall at Milecastle 37. This is one of the better preserved milecastles and is located about a mile west of Housesteads Roman Fort in Northumberland. The stretch of water in the distance is Broomlee Lough.

Looking west along Hadrians's Wall and the long distance footpath about 2 miles from Housesteads mist is filling Castle Nick the dip where the wall drops down from Highshield Crag to Milecastle 39. Beyond the Milecastle the wall rises again towards Peel Crag.
