Description
Seen between two processing sheds is the 'Navigator', one of the boats used to catch cockles and other shellfish in the Thames Estuary. The pipes of the apparatus used for the purpose are apparent. Such shellfish were popular at the nearby holiday resort of Southend-on-Sea and in East London. A deep bed of discarded shells is evident between the sheds and the boat.
