Description
Pero's Bridge is a pedestrian, bascule bridge at St Augustine's Reach in Bristol Harbour. It links Queen Square and Millennium Square, it is composed of three spans; the two outer ones are fixed and the central section can be raised to provide a navigation channel in the harbour. The most distinctive features of the bridge are the pair of horn-shaped sculptures which act as counterweights for the lifting section, leading it to be commonly known as the Horned Bridge.

In 1845 the Bristol and Exeter Railway station built its own station at right angles to the GWR station and an "express platform" and a grand headquarters was built at street level on the west side of its station in 1852-54 to the Jacobean designs of Samuel Fripp.

Isambard Kingdom Brunel's SS Great Britain in it's final resting place, the Great Western Dockyard in Bristol - the very same dockyard in which it was built in 1843. The SS Great Britain was the world's first steam powered iron hulled ocean liner and is considered one of the forerunners to modern shipping.
