Description
The original Trevi fountain was built in the 15th century at the end of the Aqua Virgo the aqueduct that brought fresh water into Rome since the 1st century. The fountain that now stands in this spot was constructed in the 18th century by Nicola Salvi and Giuseppe Pannini and is in part based on earlier designs by Bernini.
