Description
Llynnon Mill was built in 1775 and operated until 1918 when it suffered severe damage from a storm. Today, Llynnon Mill operates as an agricultural museum, securing museum registration status in 2001, and produces stoneground wholemeal flour using organic wheat. Llynnon Mill is the only working windmill in Wales. Roundhouses Two roundhouses, 10m in diameter and built from timber with wattle and daub walls and a thatched roof, provide an unique impression of the prehistoric past. Developments include the furnishing and decoration of one of the roundhouses to reflect a living late prehistoric roundhouse. This reconstructed settlement is typical of what existed on Anglesey and north west Wales, about 3000 years ago. The new woodland, planted by school children, reflects some of the tree species that existed and were used at that time.

The oldest of originally three (known) Dutch Cottages or Roundhouses, this one is dated 1681. It was occupied into the twentieth century until it was turned into a Museum in 1962. Some theorise these could originally have been mills as normal homes of the period were made of wood.
