In Victorian times in large towns and cities a considerable trade was carried on in "Christmasing, " or in the sale of holly and mistletoe for Christmas decorations. Every room would have the cheery decoration of holly, its bright, glazed leaves and red berries, reflecting the light from fire or candle.
