Description
The original Crow (or City) Stone, which was once placed in the River Thames off Southend to mark the eastern limit of the Port of London Authority. It has long been replaced in the Thames, and now appears on display - with nothing to identify it - in Priory Park, Southend. There is some lettering, and possibly numbers, near the top of the stone, but the only discernable word is 'London',

Description
The London Stone, On the bank of the River Thames at Staines, Middlesex, was originally erected either in 1285 or in the 17th century (according to which report is used) to mark the upstream limit of jurisdiction of the City of London over the River Thames, being the upper tidal limit of the river. The authority shifted to the Port of London Authority. The stone is now in the museum attached to Staines Library. At the time it was erected, Staines Bridge was the next bridge upstream from London Bridge. A similar stone still stands at the river's edge in Southend on the estuary, the original stone being in a local park. Picture is from an original engravign reproduced in a 1930s book. Best guess on date is 17th century and the apparent new condition of the stone would suggest this is the more accurate date.
