Dinner Dress and Ball Dress, as seen originally in the magazine 'La Belle Assemblee' in 1831 and reproduced in 1943 in a book titled 'Fashions and Fashion Plates 1800-1900 by James Laver (1899-1975), who was Keeper of Prints, Drawings and Paintings for the Victoria and Albert Museum between 1938 and 1959.
