Description
View of Weymouth Harbour in Dorset, England, on a sunny day. The Town Bridge in the background, a lifting bascule bridge opened in 1930, is raised at regular intervals to allow boats and yachts to enter and leave the inner harbour and marina beyond. The port is infamous in history as the spot at which the Black Death, or bubonic plague, entered England in 1348 – brought into Melcombe Regis on the north shore (now part of modern day Weymouth) from Europe by vessels fleeing the disease.

Description
Crail Harbour on the East Coast of Scotland between St Andrews and Kirkcaldy. The curved breakwater on the right dates back to the 16th century, whilst the straight pier on the left was built in 1826 by Robert Stevenson. The village is famous for its shellfish. The parish church dates back to 1160, and The Marketgate was once the largest medieval Market place in Europe. The beach to the left of the tiny harbour is a geologists’ paradise, being strewn with huge fossilised tree stumps, and the low cliffs are also a source of Carboniferous fossils.
