Kampong Ayer (water village) is in the Brunei capital of Bandar Seri Begawan. A water village has existed on this site for over 1300 years. 10% of the entire population of Brunei live in the water village in houses on stilts above the Brunei River. 42 villages are connected by 36 kilometres of boardwalk and foot bridges. It is the World's largest water village.
