Print engraving circa 1867 entitled "A Night on the Sea of Galilee". It depicts one of the miracles of Jesus Christ - walking on water to meet his disciples. The incident is outlined in the Gospels of John (Chapter 6), Matthew and Mark. Jesus had sent his disciples ahead of him to Bethsaida by boat and when they were halfway across the Sea of Galilee he walked over the surface of the water to meet them. The disciples were initially terrified, thinking he was a ghost until he revealed himself and climbed on board. The incident is outlined in the Gospels of Mark (Chapter 4), Luke (Chapter 8) and Matthew (Chapter 8). It is said to have occurred one evening as Jesus and his disciples crossed the Sea in a boat. A furious storm occurred, nearly swamping the boat, and Jesus, who had been asleep, awoke and calmed both the winds and sea. Print engraving c1880s showing Jesus Christ, aged just 12, in the Temple at Jerusalem discoursing with the elders as outlined in the Gospel of Luke (Chapter 2). The incident is said to have happened after Jesus and his parents Joseph and Mary travelled to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. When the Feast was over Joseph and Mary started travelling home, thinking Jesus was with their group and unaware he had stayed behind. When they realised he was missing they returned to Jerusalem and after searching for three days found him in the temple courts having discussions with the teachers and elders and amazing them with his knowledge and understanding. Vintage print circa 1873 entitled "Christ restoring sight to the blind man". It depicts one of the miracles of Jesus outlined in the Gospel of John (Chapter 9, verses 1 - 12) - the healing of the man blind from birth. Jesus is said to have "anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay" - mixing spittle with dirt to make a mud mixture which he placed in the man's eyes. It depicts Jesus, left of picture, being rejected by the Jewish High Priest, the Elders and the people of Jerusalem when brought before Pontius Pilate for judgement. Pilate, arm outstretched towards Christ, is soliciting the rulers and people on his behalf but the High Priest, both arms outstretched in the centre, exclaims "Away with him!". Behind the High Priest a throng of people are insulting Christ and in the foreground Mary Magdalene lies on the cross which will be used to crucify him. A serpent can be seen giving Eve fruit from the forbidden Tree of Knowledge while Adam stretches out his hand to receive it from her. The pair were subsequently banished from the Garden for breaking God's prohibition on eating the forbidden fruit.

He opposed slavery and supported women's suffrage and Darwin's theory of evolution. Beecher was also embroiled in one of the most notorious American trials of the 19th century in 1875 when he was tried for adultery after being accused of having an affair with a married woman. Portrait print circa 1852 of Franklin Pierce as a General on horseback. Pierce (1804 - 1869) was the 14th US President, holding office from 1853 to 1857. Prior to that he served in the Mexican-American War (1846 - 1848) and reached the rank of Brigadier General. Pierce is often branded one of the worst US Presidents because of some of the decisions he made and controversy surrounding the Kansas-Nebraska Act and the Ostend Manifesto. Adams (1735 – 1826) held the office from 1789 to 1797 and subsequently became the second US President (1797 – 1801). He is regarded as one of the most influential Founding Fathers.
