These waterfalls can be seen on Hoar Oak Water just before it joins the East Lynn River at Watersmeet, a very popular spot with tourists. Both rivers flow through deep, steep sided and thickly wooded valleys. The waterfalls are imaged here in autumn after a spell of heavy rain.

Hisley Bridge The bridge is an important landmark and crossing point of the River Bovey, deep within its wooded valley some way from the nearest modern road. It would have been the only dry route across the river for anything other than pedestrians between Clapper Bridge at Neadon and Drakeford Bridge, some six kilometres apart.
