Description
Bottrop is a city in west central Germany, on the Rhine-Herne Canal, in North Rhine-Westphalia. Located in the Ruhr industrial area, Bottrop adjoins Essen, Oberhausen, Gladbeck and Dorsten. The city had been a coal-mining and rail center and contains factories producing coal-tar derivatives, chemicals, textiles, and machinery. Bottrop grew as a mining center beginning in the 1860s, was chartered as a city in 1921, and bombed during the Oil Campaign of World War II. 40% of the citys population is of Polish descent, mostly descendants of late 19th century immigrants.
The City Hall, a Neo-Renaissance building from 1910–1916 is regarded as the emblem of the city.

Description
The London Stone, On the bank of the River Thames at Staines, Middlesex, was originally erected either in 1285 or in the 17th century (according to which report is used) to mark the upstream limit of jurisdiction of the City of London over the River Thames, being the upper tidal limit of the river. The authority shifted to the Port of London Authority. The stone is now in the museum attached to Staines Library. At the time it was erected, Staines Bridge was the next bridge upstream from London Bridge. A similar stone still stands at the river's edge in Southend on the estuary, the original stone being in a local park. Picture is from an original engravign reproduced in a 1930s book. Best guess on date is 17th century and the apparent new condition of the stone would suggest this is the more accurate date.

Description
The square has long been at the centre of Nottingham life. In the early days before the City of Nottingham was formed, the area was the centre-point between the old Norman town of Snottingham (situated around the Castle Rock) and the old Saxon town which was based around the current Lace Market at St. Mary's Church. The central point between the two towns became a major market point, and hence the square has been at the centre of Nottingham's growth around it for hundreds of years since. The two towns were once divided by a wall. The old positioning of this historic wall was reinstated when the square was redesigned in the 2000s, with a granite line down the centre of the Square reminding visitors of a once divided city. The square was the original setting of Nottingham Goose Fair, an annual fair held in October originating over 700 years ago. The Goose Fair was moved in 1928 for redevelopment of the square. The square was the location of Smith's Bank, which, established in 1688, was the earliest provincial bank in England. Its successor, the National Westminster Bank is still located in the same premises.

Description
Mississauga Civic Centre seen from the south-east. This design was supposed to reflect the influence of farmsteads which once occupied much of Mississauga,[9] the architecture is based on a "futuristic farm" (the clock tower is the windmill, the main building on the top-right corner is the farmhouse, the cylindrical council chamber is the silo, and the building on the bottom left represents a barn)
