Description
The Shuttleworth Collection's Sopwith Triplane "Dixie" lands at Old Warden in a cloud of dust and blue smoke from the blipping rotary engine. Built as a modern replica to the original drawings and specification by the Northern Aeroplane Workshops this aircraft was such a triumph of craftmanship that the original designer, Tommy Sopwith, shortly before he died certified it as being the last official production machine of its type.
