One of the turrets of Corfe Castle in Dorset, England. Construction of the castle was begun in the early 12th Century AD by King Henry 1, son of William the Conqueror.

Description
The ruins of Sandsfoot Castle overlooking Portland Harbour in Dorset, England. The castle is one of Henry VIII's Device Forts, also known as Henrician Castles, built in the 1530s to the west of Weymouth. Sandsfoot, along with the contemporary Portland Castle opposite (not pictured), was designed to protect shipping in Portland Harbour from foreign raiders and to prevent invasion forces gathering offshore. Most of the castle has since fallen into the sea. In the foreground a kayaker paddles along and a man and girl play with a large ball in a small inlet known as Castle Cove.
