Description
The waterfall is Reekie Linn, a Scots term meaning smoky waterfall, a name arising from the plume of spray which can be seen from the bridge in the background. The river is the Isla, a major tributary of the Tay and it is in spate here, its peaty waters hurtling over the brink of the falls.

Description
The River Isla is a sizeable tributary of the Tay and in lower Glenisla, it tumbles over a sill of hard rock at the waterfall of Reekie Linn. With the river in spate, the water shows a brown, peaty colour as it tumbles over the edge to fall over a hundred feet to the next level.
