1884 ladies fashion scanned from advert for Nicholson's dress fabric in the Illustrated London News dated 12 July 1884. The Ducie Costume is described as 'Prettily braided, with four yards for bodice, in black, brown, grenat, elephant, myrtle and navy foule serges, or in mixed tweeds and beiges, 18s 9d. Same with bodice made as per illustration, 25s 6d. Success hat to match costume, 6s 11d.' Patterns were supplied free. The illustration is signed 'Charbon'.
