Description
Winged Sea Lion on the bridge near the castle in Newport. I believe it represents one of the supporters (Dexter side) on the coat of arms of Newport (the other side (sinister) being a sea Dragon). Newport was the first authority to use this rare heraldic device. The motto is Terra Marique and means 'By land and sea'.
