A busy Trafalgar Square photographed during the 1960s. The church of St Martin in the Fields and South Africa House are on the right as is the statue of Major General Sir Henry Havelock, hero of the Indian Mutiny. In 2003 the mayor of London Ken Livingstone suggested that Havelock and Napier's statues be replaced with more relevant figures.

Nelson's Column is a monument to British naval hero, Horatio Nelson who beat Napoleon at the battle of Trafalgar on 21st October 1805. The monument stands 169feet high and underwent restoration in 2006.
