The River Tees flowing down beneath the Cow Green Dam in the United Kingdom. The dam is situated at the end of the two mile long Cow Green reservoir which lies on the famous Pennine Way and straddles the border between Cumbria and County Durham. It was built between 1967 and 1971 when the River Tees was dammed to supply the industries of Teesdale. Cow Green is Northumbrian Water's highest reservoir.
